Love River Boat Tours --- 愛河遊船

To enjoy the full experience of the Love River, a boat tour has become a popular choice amongst visitors. In 2004, the Transportation Bureau introduced The Love Boat River Tours, which have become very popular. The "Love Boats", gracefully floating up and down the Love River are central to Kaohsiung's developing tourism and one of the best ways to see the city.

The Solar-powered Boat is the latest incarnation of the Love Boat and incorporates advanced solar-power technologies. The Solar-powered Boat produces zero emissions, no diesel smell, and no noise. While the twin-hull design improves stability and passenger comfort, Much to the tourists' delight, the LED nighttime and underwater lighting system installed on the side of the ship attracts many of the river's fish at night. Pier 2 Art Center --- 駁二藝術特區

"Pier-2" is located next to the Yencheng Tourist Wharf. It was once an abandoned and forgotten warehouse buried in history due to the move from an industrial based segment to the service sector. However, with a group of persistent artist who injected waves of creativity and inspiration into the area, the Pier-2 area was released and re-born making the region a place where tourist and locals can come together to enjoy fine art. With the collision of an old area and new fine art, Pier-2 becomes an area of new vitality and liveliness.

The warehouses on the pier were built during the middle of the Japanese Colonial era. Converted out of these old warehouses, Pier-2 Art Center is dedicated to modern art exhibitions. An artistic and cultural space welcomes installations from the public. A number of art groups meet here and strive to develop the Kaohsiung artistic environment. The Kaohsiung City Bureau of Cultural Affairs took over the Pier-2 Art Center in 2006, starting a series of exhibitions and festivals such as the Kaohsiung Design Festival, the Chinese Character Exhibition, Kaohsiung International Steel & Iron Sculpture Festival, Kaohsiung International Container Art Festival, Mega Port Festival, The Wall Moon Theatre, Kaohsiung Youth Innovative Design Exhibition etc. Every performance and exhibition filled the city with creative vibes injecting new life to the Pier-2 Art Center. In doing so, the center has continuously been presenting avant-garde perceptions and appearances, while building this port city into an attractive cultural and living hub.

The newly opened Warehouse Number 9 is currently occupied by the SCET Group as a center for the latest video game and software development and testing. One of the top international digital innovation companies has also found their home in Warehouse Number 7; Pier-2 has now become on par with the rest of the artistic world where imagination, creativity, and animation has become solid building blocks for the future. The C3 Warehouse now houses Pasadena and became the warehouse restaurant, providing complete solutions for the entire artistic cluster. (See the map)
